Old friends are meeting again

The Croatia Trophy 2010 is underway! Competitors from countries far and near have been arriving during the past couple of days, de-hitching their trailers and pitching their camps. The base camp in Staro Selo Topusko is buzzing with colour and the sound of highly tuned engines getting a workout. That special perfume of burnt racing oil which characterises a motor sports event is in the air (together with a slightly richer smell in the background  thoughtfully provided by one of the local farmers who is happily spreading fertiliser in the next field.)

Competition vehicles have been passing through scrutineering and, under Darko’s watchful eye, drivers have been carefully placing this year’s array of sponsor stickers on their cars. Old friends have been slapping each other on the back and trading insults. The weather is perfect, the Prologue is about to take place and we are all set for another classic, tough, unique and challenging Croatia Trophy. Bring it on…
